Jason Holt Digital LLC is the data controller for both Mythic GME Mobile and Mythic GME Digital. For any privacy questions reach me at privacy@jasonholtdigital.com.
What Apps This Covers
This privacy policy applies to:
- Mythic GME Mobile — iPhone, iPad, Android, and Fire tablets
- Mythic GME Digital — Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop versions
What Data I Collect
The Mythic GME apps are local-first. Your journals, scenes, custom tables, notes, Fate Questions, dice rolls, table results, and other play content are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, sync, or send that content in a support request.
Optional Analytics
Analytics is optional and off until you choose to enable it. When analytics is enabled, PostHog receives a limited daily activity ping with basic technical information such as app version, build number, platform, operating system, locale, whether Expanded Features access is unlocked, and a pseudonymous install identifier.
The apps do not send individual gameplay events, journal text, table contents, Fate Questions, dice results, or Scene and List content as analytics.
Basic Error Reporting
Basic error reporting is enabled in release builds so I can diagnose crashes and serious app problems. Error reports are handled through Sentry and may include technical context such as app version, platform, operating system, current screen, stack traces, and error breadcrumbs. Where supported and enabled by your settings, error reports may also include limited UI diagnostic context. Error reporting is not used for advertising or user profiling.
Session Replay
Session Replay is separate from analytics. It is off by default and available only on supported mobile platforms. If you turn it on, Sentry may receive a short replay around an error to help diagnose what went wrong. It is configured as an on-error debugging tool, not continuous session recording.
What I Do Not Collect for Advertising or Analytics
- Personal contact information from the apps, such as your name, email address, or phone number
- Precise location data, such as GPS coordinates or an exact address
- Journal text, Scene text, table contents, Fate Questions, dice results, or other play content as analytics
- Browsing history outside the apps
- Photos, videos, contacts, or personal files outside files you explicitly import, export, sync, or share
- Social media connections
Your Analytics Choice
When you first open the app, you'll see a consent dialog that explains analytics and lets you choose. Analytics is off by default until you opt in. Basic crash and error reporting is enabled in release builds to help diagnose issues and keep the app stable. Session Replay is treated separately and is off unless you turn it on.
- Enable or disable analytics any time in Settings.
- Enable or disable Session Replay any time in Settings where that feature is supported.
- Keep using the app's features even if analytics and Session Replay are off.
I Don't Sell Your Data
I do not sell personal information, use targeted advertising, or build a business around your data. The providers named below process limited analytics and diagnostics data on my behalf for the purposes described in this policy.
How Your Data is Processed
Analytics & Diagnostics Providers
- PostHog (optional analytics): receives the limited daily activity ping and technical properties described above only when analytics is enabled. PostHog Session Replay, feature flags, surveys, person profiles, lifecycle capture, and error autocapture are not enabled in the apps. Region: United States. Retention depends on the active PostHog plan and settings; PostHog currently lists one-year data retention on Free and seven-year data retention on pay-as-you-go plans. Sources: Privacy Policy, Pricing and retention, Data storage and deletion docs.
- Sentry (error reporting and optional Session Replay): receives crash and error diagnostics, technical context, and optional Session Replay data as described above. Region: United States. Sentry retains SaaS error data according to the active plan and event type; Sentry currently lists 30 days for Free error logs, 90 days for self-serve Team/Business error logs, and custom retention for Enterprise plans. Sources: Privacy Policy, Security, Data retention.
- Data Retention: I use provider retention and deletion tools where available and keep analytics and diagnostics data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. You can request deletion at any time (see Your Privacy Rights).
- International Transfers: Data is processed in the United States under appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs) where required.
- Data sharing/sale: Data is not sold. Providers process data on my behalf to keep the apps reliable and improve them.
Provider privacy and retention information:
- Sentry: Privacy Policy • Session Replay • Data Retention
- PostHog: Privacy Policy • Pricing and Retention • Data Storage and Deletion
Local Storage
- Game Data: Your journals, custom tables, and game content are stored locally unless you choose to export, share, sync, or send them in a support request
- File Access: The apps access files you explicitly open, save, import, export, sync, or share
- iCloud Sync: If enabled, your game data syncs through Apple's iCloud service
- No Jason Holt Digital server storage: I do not host your game content on Jason Holt Digital servers
Legal Basis (GDPR)
For users in the EU, my legal basis for processing is:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Optional analytics and Session Replay run only if you enable them; you can withdraw consent any time in Settings.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Basic crash/error reporting to maintain security and stability; and responding to support emails you send.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
I do not sell or share your personal information as defined by applicable privacy laws, and I do not use targeted advertising. If you submit a "Do Not Sell or Share" request, email privacy@jasonholtdigital.com. I will review it and honor any applicable rights.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent for optional analytics or Session Replay, appeal a decision, or complain to a privacy regulator.
I do not sell personal information or use targeted advertising. If a law gives you an opt-out right for sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, you can still contact me and I will honor any applicable request.
How to Exercise Your Rights
Email me at privacy@jasonholtdigital.com with your request. I may need information to verify the request and match it to data I actually hold. I will respond within the time required by applicable law.
For local game data: Your play data is primarily stored on your device or in platform sync services you enable. Export anything you want to keep before uninstalling.

- First‑Run Dialog: Choose your analytics preference when you first open the app
- Export Data: Export your game journals as JSON or Markdown files

Device‑Level Controls
Operating-system privacy controls vary by platform and version. You can use your device or desktop settings to manage app permissions, file access, app analytics sharing, tracking preferences, and other system-level privacy controls where available.
- iPhone, iPad, Android, and Fire tablets: Manage app permissions, analytics sharing, usage diagnostics, and tracking or advertising preferences in system settings where available.
- Windows, macOS, and Linux: Use system privacy and file-permission controls. Desktop versions only access files you explicitly open, save, import, export, sync, or share.
Platform Differences
Why Data Handling Can Vary by Platform
- Analytics: PostHog analytics is limited to the optional daily activity ping described above.
- Debug and web builds: Analytics and Sentry reporting are disabled in current app code for ordinary debug builds and web builds.
- Session Replay: Session Replay is supported only on mobile platforms where the Sentry SDK supports it.
- Desktop: Desktop builds do not use mobile advertising identifiers and only access files you explicitly open, save, import, export, sync, or share.
Children's Privacy
The apps are not directed to children under 13. They do not require accounts or ask for a birth date, so I generally do not know a player's age.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through the apps or a support request, email privacy@jasonholtdigital.com so I can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
When I update this privacy policy:
- The "Last Updated" date will change
- Major privacy changes will be announced in the app or on the site where appropriate
- The consent dialog may be shown again if analytics practices change significantly
- Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy
Future Features
If I add cloud save functionality or other features that materially change data handling:
- This policy will be updated as needed
- I will provide notice where required or appropriate
- New features will include privacy controls when they need them
- Optional analytics and Session Replay choices will stay under your control
